To better your chances of survival, you should do lots of labour, lots of honesty, loyalty, patriotism, cleanliness, etc.  

After doing above deeds, also chant the following Mantra 108 times preferably on rosary beads:-

"Shreem Shrum Shreem"

(Pronounce Shreem as in Cream, and pronounce Shrum as in Shrub)
